Transitions^® lenses are adaptive lenses that automatically adjust from clear to dark through activation from UV light. These lenses are available for both Single Vision and Progressive prescriptions.

How they work

UV light activates the lens technology to transform the lenses from clear to dark, and a range of tint in-between. The lenses are fully clear indoors and at night, and when UV activated block 100% of UVA and UVB rays. If you spend a lot of time driving, you may want to keep a pair of sunglasses in the car. Car windshields have UV protection and block the UV needed to activate the Transitions^® lenses we offer in the car.

According to the Vision Council, children “receive more annual sun exposure than adults because many of their activities are outdoor-based... this exposure to sunlight also increases children's exposure to damaging UV light.” As children are constantly moving between indoor and outdoor settings, it is never too early to start protecting their eyes from harmful UV rays.

Select Ultra Thin Air Single Vision or Progressive Lenses that are up to 45% thinner and lighter than standard lenses.

2. My eyes strain easily using the computer or watching TV...

Select an Anti-Reflective coating that will reduce eyestrain, or for extended use of digital devices consider KODAK BlueReflect™ Digital Protection lenses.

3. I spend extended periods each day using digital devices…

Our KODAK BlueReflect™ digital protection lenses are anti-reflective and filter high-energy visible (HEV) artificial blue light that causes eye strain and damage due to long hours spent using digital devices and working in artificial lighting.

4. My lenses don't stay clear for very long...

A Scratch Resistant Coating will guard your corrective lenses against scratching, and will extend the life of your lenses by making them more durable.

Select our polycarbonate Durable Air Lenses that are 12 times more impact-resistant, and up to 22% thinner, than standard plastic lenses. We also suggest Scratch Resistant, UV Protective and Anti-Reflective coatings. While these lenses and coatings increase durability, please note that no lenses are completely shatterproof.

9. I play sports and my glasses take a bit of a beating...

Select our Single Vision Durable Air Lenses and a Scratch Resistant Coating for additional durability. These polycarbonate lenses are lightweight, impact resistant, and up to 22% thinner than standard lenses. While no lenses are completely shatterproof, sport safety glasses may be a better solution if you participate in high-impact sports.

10. I need glasses for reading, computer use and driving...

Upgrade your lenses to Progressive Lenses to ensure you have clear vision while reading a book (near vision), using a computer (intermediate vision) and driving (distance vision). We also have sunglasses and Transitions ® lenses for Progressive prescriptions.
